This is a river cleanup at the Mouth of the Monocacy River down the Potomac River behind lock 27 of the C&O Canal. Gloves and trash bags will be provided.

Join me (Tim Boucher), KCS Landscape Management, Inc., and the Washington Metro Chapter Community Associations Institute as we do our part to clean up the Potomac Watershed and positively impact the communities where we work and live. Gloves, recycling and trash bags provided.
Let's plan on meeting at the beginning of the creek where it starts at Hallman Street for instructions, meeting volunteers, and then commence cleanup work. We will meet by the creek by Woodland St and Main Street in Fairfax City.

There is trash along the banks of the Potomac and in the woods between the C&O Canal towpath and the river. The mileposts along the towpath are 39.37 (Lock 26) to 39.63 (entrance at the Dickerson Conservation Park parking lot).
Wear appropriate clothing and waterproof footwear as necessary. Bags and gloves will be provided.

Join Potomac Riverkeeper Network for a major river cleanup of the Oxon Cove shoreline. Kick off the new year enjoying the outdoors of this often-overlooked park, Oxon Hill Farm, while making a positive impact in your community.
We will spend the entire afternoon on Saturday, January 30rd, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event is split in two blocks. You may sign up for block 1 (9 AM to 12 PM), block 2 (12 PM to 3 PM) or both.
This site is for block 1 --> 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Find block 2 (12-3) HERE.
Registration is from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and will be in the parking lot at Oxon Hill Farm Park. From there, volunteers must walk nearly one mile down to the cove to reach the shoreline, so please be prepared for a brisk hike.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, we are limiting the number of volunteers, so please register only if you are serious about attending. We need volunteers of all ages to help remove single use plastics and trash washed into the cove. We also need volunteers capable of hauling shopping car...
