Watershed cleanup of common areas in Milestone HOA. This community includes a pond, two storm water ponds, a bike/walking path, creek, and three tot lots. We will provide water, coffee, donuts, trash bags, and gloves. Help us celebrate Earth Day a little early!

This site has a pond, two storm water ponds and a creek, three tot lots, a paved walking trail. Elderly and small children could work the tot lots or paths. Creek and pond areas should be older children and able adults

Suggestions

Wear long pants, closed-toe walking shoes, and long sleeves. We will meet at Milestone Pool at 12700 Royal Carriage Drive, Germantown, MD by 8:45am. Instructions will be given at that time and we will begin at 9:00am. Young children can help clean up the three tot lots and on the walking paths but not the ponds and the stream.

Lock 26 (Woods Lock)

Cleanup Event

There is trash along the banks of the Potomac and in the woods between the C&O Canal towpath and the river. The mileposts along the towpath are 39.37 (Lock 26) to 39.63 (entrance at the Dickerson Conservation Park parking lot).

Wear appropriate clothing and waterproof footwear as necessary. Bags and gloves will be provided.
