Wish to make a difference in your community? Join a park ranger on monthly shoreline cleanups to pick up trash and drift wood. Suggestions

Make sure to wear pants, long socks, and boots. You are more than welcome to bring your own gloves, though latex gloves will be provided if needed. Dress according to the weather the day of the event. Event will only be cancelled if is is pouring rain, snowing, or thundering.

2019 Extreme Cleanup- Wheaton Claridge Park

Cleanup Event

Join Wheaton Hills Civic Association, Montgomery Parks, park neighbors, and One Montgomery Green to help clean up this neighborhood park and the Rock Creek tributaries that run through it!

Volunteers should wear sturdy closed toe shoes (no sandals) and clothes that can get dirty and wet. Supplies will be provided and SSL hours will be available. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Spring Bread and Cheese Creek Cleanup

Cleanup Event

Please help us cleanup the Historic Bread and Cheese Creek. We run our cleanups as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. We welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Though it is true we will need people to dig out shopping carts and haul trash to the dumpsters, we need people to run water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek. People to sort recyclables from the debris removed. People will be needed to help at registration, setup food and snacks as well as many other less strenuous activities. We are also authorized to sign-off on Community Service and Service Learning Hours for students

This is a river cleanup at the Mouth of the Monocacy River down the Potomac River behind lock 27 of the C&O Canal.

Wear waterproof boots and clothing appropriate for the weather. The site is about seven-tenths of a mile up the towpath from the parking area at White's Ferry.

Greenbelt Park is a part of the Still Creek, the Anacostia River, and the Potomac River Watershed. We will be cleaning our park to help keep our part of the watershed clean!

Washingtonian Woods - Gaithersburg Green Up Day/Potomac River Watershed Cleanup 2019

Cleanup Event

Spring cleaning takes on new meaning during this year’s community-wide Green Up Day. Join hundreds of volunteers as they make a difference throughout the community by cleaning up and beautifying local streams, schools, parks, and homeowner association common areas during Community Green Up Day. The City is looking for volunteers for this event. Students can also earn student service learning credits.

Please wear clothing and footwear that are weather appropriate and that can get dirty, muddy, or wet. Although the City supplies equipment, volunteers are welcome to bring their own gloves or supplies to the event.

For those interested in earning Student Service Learning (SSL) hours, please sign in when you arrive, and bring all paperwork with you.
