It's a fun and educational event. Volunteers will be provided with supplies to remove trash and debris from along Quantico Creek in the Town of Dumfries. Breakfast and lunch is provided.

Directions: From I-85 take I-95 N to exit 152B. Turn right on Route 1 S/Jefferson Davis Highway. Jefferson Davis Highway turns into Main St. On the left is 17757 Main St. Jeff Simpson Community Center.

Harpers Ferry NHP Potoma Wayside River Clean up

Cleanup Event

Please join us Saturday April 13th from 9:00am to Noon, for the Annual Potomac River Watershed Clean up at the Potoma Wayside River Access in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Ranger Samantha will be leading the clean up. Gloves, trash bags, & recycling bags will be provided. Bring your refillable water bottle, wear sturdy boots, dress in long pants of a tough fabric, and layers up top.

Parking will be just down the road, past the "Tri-State" Exxon, in the "Kettle Corn" lot. Permission has been granted by the property owner. Just ask the Kettle Corn or other Vendor folks where they'd like you to park.

Bring your phone and/or other camera to capture the project, and maybe even enter the Alice Ferguson Foundation photo contest!

The Alice Ferguson Foundation was established in 1954 as a non-profit organization chartered in the state of Maryland. The Alice Ferguson Foundation’s educational programs unite students, educators, park rangers, communities, regional organizations, and government agencies throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area to promote the environmental sustainability of the Potomac River watershed.
